National Park Week 2015 Encourages Everyone To “Find Your Park”
BEATRICE – National Park Week activities continue with dogs herding sheep and geese at , Homestead National Monument of America at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2015, in the demonstration prairie area near the Education Center.
Watch as Anja Becker works magic with her dogs to herd both sheep and geese on the demonstration prairie near the Education Center. Becker and her dogs compete in herding demonstrations throughout the region. She will explain how important it was for homesteaders to use their animals to help with daily chores. She will also discuss how she trains her dogs and then demonstrate herding with both sheep and geese.
