Junior Ranger Rendezvous at Homestead National Monument
Fun Weekend Planned!
Families are invited to get out and about over the weekend of April 18-21, 2014 for Homestead National Monument of America’s biannual Junior Ranger Rendezvous! The Heritage and the Education Centers are both open from 9-5 on weekends. Free Junior Ranger activity booklets are available at both buildings. The Nebraska Hidden Treasures activity book will also be available.
While the monument’s Junior Ranger Booklet is available year round for children ages five to twelve, this weekend event seeks to bring multiple kids and their families together in cooperation toward the goal of earning the title of Homestead Junior Ranger. If anyone gets stumped on a question, rangers will be around to happily help. Upon finishing the booklet, children will receive their certificate of completion signed by a Park Ranger, a “Junior Park Ranger” badge, a temporary tattoo, and a paper Junior Ranger hat.
“This weekend will be a great chance to get out and about with your family. Explore the park to see spring emerging on the prairie and finish fun activities to earn Junior Ranger badges!”
