DESCRIPTION:Discover Bats workshop\n\n\n\nFriday\, August 1\n\n3 - 10 pm\n\nHomestead National Monument of America\n\n\n\nThe Nebraska Game & Parks Commission in conjunction with Fulbright's EcoLeadership Program\, is pleased to announce an educator workshop focusing on bats.  The workshop will educate teachers about bats - their natural history\, importance in the ecosystem and how to help in their conservation.\n\n\n\nAdditionally\, teacher will learn how to incorporate the study of bats into their science curriculum.  Each participant will receive several educational resources including the Discover Bats! Educator Guide\, a bat identification book\, a bat-related literature book and a bat house to facilitate in depth study of the bats of Nebraska.  \n\n\n\nThese workshops are open to formal and non-formal K-12 grade educators in Nebraska.  Workshops are free\, but limited to 20 participants\, and pre-registration is required.  \n\n\n\nTo register\, please send your name\, school or organization\, email and phone number to Lindsay Rogers\, lindsay.rogers@nebraska.gov.\n\n\n\nHomestead National Monument of America is a unit of the National park Service located four miles west of Beatrice.  Hours of operation are 8:30 am - 5 pm daily.  Admission is free of charge.  For additional information\, please call 402-223-3514 or visit http://www.nps.gov/home/index.htm.
