DESCRIPTION:Let the Games Begin!\n\n \n\nLet the hedge apple games begin! Join park rangers at Homestead National Monument of America on Sunday\, October 6 from 2-4 p.m. to have fun with hedge apples at the Hedge Apple Festival!  All are invited to participate in a hedge apple craft contest at 2 p.m. in the Heritage Center.  See who makes the most exciting and unique creation using the provided hedge apples and craft supplies\, and win prizes for creativity.  Next\, kids and visitors of all ages can participate in the Homestead Hedge Apple "Olympics\," a series of fun activities outside near the Palmer-Epard Cabin.  Games will include a hedge apple throw\, hedge apple on a spoon race\, hedge apple bucket toss\, and hedge apple bowling! The festival is free and all participants will earn a prize. \n\n"The monument's hedgerow of Osage orange trees is an important part of the historic landscape.
