DESCRIPTION:Innovation: Transportation During the Homestead Era \n\nat Homestead National Monument of America\n\n \n\nJoin us for the film festival\, Innovation: Transportation During the Homestead Era\, Saturdays and Sundays in January and February of 2019\, at 2:00 p.m.\, in the Homestead National Monument of America's Education Center. This year's film festival will kick-off on Saturday January 5\, and will feature films that honor the first and last major transportation innovations during the Homestead Era\, the development of the Transcontinental Railroad\, and the Apollo program's exploration of the space frontier.\n\n    \n\nThe first film in the festival will be Hidden Figures\, this dramatization based on the non-fictional book by the same name\, which examines the life of Katherine Johnson a woman who served as a human computer for NASA performing critical mathematical work during the space missions.  This film will screen Saturday\, January 5\, and Sunday\, January 6\, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Education Center at Homestead National Monument of America.\n\n \n\n2 p.m. Saturday/Sunday January 5-6             Hidden Figures (PG)\n\n2 p.m. Saturday/Sunday January 12-13         The West: The Grandest Enterprise Under God\n\n2 p.m.  Saturday/Sunday January 19-20         In the Shadow of the Moon\n\n2 p.m.  Saturday/Sunday January 26-27         End of the Track: Wyoming\n\n2 p.m. Saturday/Sunday February 2-3           The Martian (PG-13)\n\n2 p.m. Saturday/Sunday February 9-10         The Railroad that Tamed the West \n\n \n\nRemember\, Homestead National Monument of America has an exciting schedule of events planned for 2019.
