SUMMARY:Nebraska's Sod House Homemakers and Their Quilts
DESCRIPTION:"Nebraska's Sod House Homemakers and Their Quilts" Author \n\nFeatured at Homestead National Monument of America\n\n \n\nAuthor Stephanie Grace Whitson will give her program "Nebraska's Sod House Homemakers and Their Quilts" on March 8\, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Homestead National Monument of America Education Center. Following the program she will sign books. Her many books will be available for sale at the bookstores. \n\n \n\nThis program is based on Whitson's research documenting quilts used by 19th century sod house homemakers. This program includes a trunk show of reproduction quilts made for the book Home on the Plains: Quilts and the Sod House Experience. Another book is set at a Chautauqua Event in Beatrice\, Nebraska and part of the story line includes the Paddock Hotel. \n\n \n\n"We are very excited to host Stephanie Whitson at Homestead National Monument of America. She will even have a surprise. She may have advance copies of her newest book Daughter of the Regiment available for sale that day. This book is set during the Civil War." stated Superintendent Mark Engler.\n\n \n\nRemember\, Homestead National Monument of America has an exciting schedule of events planned for 2015.
