"Dancing at the Rascal Fair" by Ivan Doig is the selection for the next book discussion at the Beatrice Public Library in the Sargent Conference Room.
The discussion leader will be Mark Metcalf, a retired Beatrice High School English teacher.
This book is the authentic account of Scottish immigrant homesteaders living in Montana at the turn of the 20th century.
It was chosen as part of the homesteading theme used in the 2012 book discussion series cosponsored with Homestead National Monument of America in honor of the Homestead Act's 150th anniversary.
