“Dancing in the Streets” is this year’s theme for the Diller Picnic and it is going to be a huge celebration in Diller, Nebraska! So mark your calendars for the 117th Annual Diller Picnic to be held July 4, 5, 6, 2013, and plan to attend. It’s a family affair with events like the tractor pull, carnival, mud drags, kid’s one mile fun run and so much more.
Kick off your Fourth of July weekend on Thursday and bring your kids for Family Night on the Midway by Richard’s Amusements Carnival. Also, starting at 7pm will be the Nebraska Bush Pullers Tractor Pull located at the south end of Diller. There will be beverages and food available on the grounds. Celebrate America’s birthday and join us for the exciting and enhanced fireworks display by “PFB Pyros” which will start at 10pm. PFB Pryos is the same company that provides fireworks for the annual Hanover event.
Come back on Friday night at 7pm for free entertainment in the park featuring “The McClellan Sisters”. Also on Friday night is the street dance starting at 9pm. New this year will be “Jake Gill”, a CMA recording artist who will be also performing at the Country Stampede and can be heard at www.jakegill.net.
On Saturday, the Mid-State Mud-draggers will return to the Diller Picnic for the 10th straight year and pasture golf will take place for the 22nd year in a row. Also on Saturday will be Van’s Chicken barbeque at the Opera House starting at 5:00pm. Plus, two morning events that are family oriented are the Kid’s One Mile Fun Run at 9am and the Pancake Man from 8am to 10am at the Community Building.
Family entertainment at its best will take place Saturday night at 7pm with the parade. Following the parade will be a FREE street dance featuring, “Upstairs Blues Band”.
Throughout the three days the carnival will be running, along with American Legion Bingo and St. Paul’s Lutheran Food Stand on the carnival grounds.
