October is Family History Month and Homestead National Monument of America and Family Search will be hosting two free genealogy workshops on October 16 and 17, 2010 at the monument's Education Center. After each presentation, monument staff and Family Search representatives will be on hand to provide onsite assistance and answer questions.
Saturday, October 16 at 2 p.m., Tina Wells, from the Family History Library in Lincoln, Nebraska, will give a presentation for beginning genealogists. The presentation will introduce novice family historians to the different resources that are available to them. This workshop is perfect for those who are interested in doing family history but do not know where to start.
Sunday, October 17 at 2 p.m., Family Search will provide a workshop focusing on more advanced genealogical techniques. This program will try and help you identify and overcome problems commonly encountered in genealogical research.
