The film, "A Pioneer Family in Alaska," the final film in the 2013 "Year of the Homesteader Film Festival" series, will be shown Feb. 23 and 24 at the Homestead National Monument of America's Education Center.
This film features original archival footage of the Kilcher family, whose most famous member, Jewel, is a Grammy-winning singer/songwriter. It starts with the history of the first pioneers in Homer, Alaska, and teaches about their subsistence lifestyle.
There is no cost or tickets needed and popcorn will be provided.
Hours of operation are from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
