The American Legion Auxiliary, Department of Nebraska, will host the second Ride 2 Recovery (R2R) event in support of our wounded warriors on Saturday, June 9.
The American Legion Family Post No. 105 at 106 Locust St., Hickman, is hosting the event with registration check-in at 7-8:15 a.m. The ride/walk begins at 8:30 a.m.
R2R is not a race or competition. Honor Rides are held to raise awareness that members of the Armed Forces have experienced life-changing events/injuries such as PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, amputations, to name a few, while serving in America's fight for Freedom. Through the R2R events, wounded warriors are the benefactors of funds raised by local communities through pledges and active participation.
R2R events are open to every level of cycling. To pre-register and make pledge commitments, go online at www.raceregister.net or www.angrycowardventures.com.
Persons may contact Betty Snyder, A.L.A. Department event coordinator at 402-874-0490 or genesnyder007@live.com; Jim Craig, the ride coordinator, at 402-432-3622 or Linda Varejecka, the Hickman A.L.A., at 402-792-2144, 402-380-2549 or jfvarejcka@windstream.net. Make checks payable to: A.L.A. R2R.
