4th of July Campfire Program Kicks-off Summer Campfire Series at Homestead National Monument of America Homestead National Monument of America is excited to announce the return of the Summer Campfire Series beginning in July and running through mid-August 2018. Programs take place at the Education Center and start at 7 p.m. The first program of the series will celebrate and be held on Independence Day, Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Join National Park Service Historian Robert Marcell as he presents “Remembering One Room Schools”, a history of the one room school and how these schools influenced freedom. We hope you will come out and enjoy the campfire program at Homestead National Monument of America before kicking off your own 4th of July celebration. We also invite you back each Saturday, starting 7 through August 11, 2018, for a weekly campfire program! Chairs will be set up outside, but feel free to bring a lawnchair. Come early and have a picnic. Upon inclement weather, the program will move indoors. Remember, Homestead National Monument of America has an exciting schedule of events planned for 2018.
