Area Veteran's Day Schedules on Tuesday, November 11
Beatrice:
10 am - Hevelone Center for Performing Arts at Beatrice High School, 600 Orange Blvd. Program sponsored by Gage County Veterans Service Office and local veterans organizations. Posting of colors by Civil Air Patrol. Master of Ceremonies: Burt Foreman. "Star Spangled Banner" by the BHS Band; Andrew Johnson, director. Invocation and program to follow. Cookies and drinks provided by the BHS Student Council in the commons area.
AVENUE OF FLAGS
The Avenue of Flags at the Gage County Courthouse and Memorial Park will be flown on Veterans Day, weather permitting. Legion and auxiliary members, veterans and other volunteers are needed to help put up the flags and take them down. The flags will be put up at 6:30 am Tuesday and taken down at 5 pm. For more information, call the Gage County Veterans Service Office at 402-223-1342.
Adams
10:15 am - Freeman High School will honor all veterans with a program. The high school band and choir will perform. The color guard will also give tribute to veterans. The event will take place int he high school gym and is open to public.
Virginia/Lewiston
9 am - Community and school Veterans Day program at Lewiston Consolidated Schools. Community open house. Refreshments provided. Program sponsored by Fisher Post #367 at Virginia has been selected as a Regional Site for celebration of Veterans Day 2014. A special message from Robert A. McDonald, Secretary of Veterans Affairs will be included in the program. Covered dish luncheon at the Virginia Legion Post. Meat and drink provided.
Wymore
11 am - Veterans Day program at Southern High School auditorium, 115 S 11th Street, Wymore.
