About Us

Welcome to the Cottage at Oak Aven Acres located
within 1 mile of the Homestead National
Monument of America, 10 minutes of downtown
Beatrice, and 45 minutes of Lincoln, Nebraska,
Home of the Huskers.

Enjoy the beauty, and peace and quiet of rural living
in this PRIVATE two bedroom Cape Cod style
cottage, surrounded by eighty acres of native timber.
Watch for deer, wild turkeys, and even a black
squirrel as you sit on the back deck enjoying an
early morning cup of coffee, or perhaps a glass of
iced lemonade or tea in the evening.

You are welcome to roam the paths and
trails that wind through the trees. Sit under the old
burr oak tree that folk lore says was shade and a
resting place for General George Custer on his way
to Little Big Horn, or try your luck at fishing in Cub
Creek.

The Cottage offers you the privacy of your own
home with your hosts living on the grounds. A
medley of period furniture and colors from nature
create a charming, relaxing atmosphere to make
you comfortable and give an at home feeling.
The master bedroom contains a queen size bed with
walk in closet. The plaid room is furnished with
bunk beds to accommodate one or two people.

For our guests who wish to cook, there is a fully
equipped kitchen including, microwave, stove,
refrigerator, and other kitchen amenities.
Historical sites and places of interest are within a
short driving distance from the Cottage.
