Paul Sterner, ALA, Founder of Oculus Architecture® now proudly based Beatrice, Nebraska. Formerly from Riverside Illinois, the firm delivers architecture and urban planning services. Mr. Sterner has been the recipient of several design awards including first place in the 1996 International Building-Integrated Photovoltaic Design Competition, sponsored by the U.S. DOE, NREL, Architecture Magazine, Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Museum, and the AIA. He was the chairman for the first Illinois comprehensive renewable energy conference held in Rockford, Illinois in 2002. As a member of the Riverside Illinois Plan Commission in 2006 – 2007, collaborated closely with Camiros of Chicago, revising the historic Frederick Law Olmsted planned village residential ordinance creating a new form-based code. Winning a Gold Award presented in 2007 by the American Planning Association – Illinois Chapter.
