“The Man and The Dream” Film to Celebrate Martin Luther King Day
at Homestead National Monument of America
In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Homestead National Monument of America invites you to the monument to view “The Man and The Dream” on Monday, January 19, 2015, 2 p.m. at the Education Center. “This day is an opportunity to honor Dr. King and his legacy of service,” stated Superintendent Mark Engler.
“The Man and The Dream” is an hour long film that explores the life of Dr. King from childhood through his assassination in 1968. This year is the 60th anniversary of the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the event that set the stage for King’s rise to national prominence as a civil rights leader.

Homestead National Monument of America is a unit of the National Park Service located four miles west of Beatrice, Nebraska and 45 miles south of Lincoln. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free of charge.
