League Cycling Instructor Training
Public Health Solutions is seeking individuals to become Certified League Cycling Instructors (LCI). A League Cycling Instructor is certified to teach the Smart Cycling classes to children and adults. Their goal is to help people feel more secure about getting on a bike, to create a mindset that bikes are treated as a vehicle, and to ensure that people on bikes know how to ride safely and legally.
The training will be hosted in Beatrice May 30 - June 1; it's a 32 hour seminar that will be Friday night, all day Saturday & Sunday. A pre-requisite to this certification training is Traffic Skills 101, which is an on-line course that can be taken before the full training. Grant funds will cover all registration (normally $300), mileage, and meals.
The goal is to have instructors to host fall and spring bike safety classes for elementary and middle school students in Crete and Beatrice.
